Sesi perdagangan hari Senin melihat mata uang Asia mengalami tekanan seiring dengan penguatan dolar. Baht Thailand turun sebesar 0.7%, mencatat penurunan terburuk dalam dua minggu dan menuju penurunan bulanan pertama dalam enam bulan.
Meski peso Filipina sedikit naik, ia berada pada jalur penurunan bulanan pertama sejak Mei. Won Korea Selatan turun sebesar 0.4%, sementara ringgit Malaysia tetap stabil tetapi telah kehilangan hampir 4% di bulan Oktober.
Kenaikan nilai dolar sebagian besar dipicu oleh kebijakan potensial Trump, yang dapat mempertahankan suku bunga tinggi di AS, situasi yang menguntungkan dolar tetapi memberi beban berat pada mata uang mitra dagangnya.
Seiring mendekatnya pemilu AS di bulan November, tren ini mungkin semakin menguat, terutama jika angka dukungan untuk Trump terus meningkat.
